The musicians of Cajundaze bring a wealth of experience and expertise to their exciting new band, based on the Isle of Wight. Playing a mixture of Cajun and Zydeco with just a hint of Western Swing, the band are great to listen to and even better to dance to. Cajun music, the traditional French music from Louisiana, is best described as 'good time' music and the red hot rhythms will keep everyone on the dance floor all night long. The band's musical influences are definitely 'deep south' USA and with traditional instruments and voices, the authentic sound of Cajundaze will transport the audience deep inside Cajun country. Accordionist John Layton toured the UK in the nineties with well known Cajun outfit ‘The Atchaflyers’ and more recently in France with his band ‘Catfishgumbo’. Fiddle player Dave Godby was a founder member of the ‘Lonesome Valley Boys’ and has gigged in almost every country in Europe. Pete Young on guitar, Debbie Wyke plays zither and Mel Saunders, percussion, are the beating heart of the band, driving the music along in true Louisiana style. If the band has a mission statement it can only be . . . . .
